Unveiling an Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Poop on a Quest to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and enthusiasts have found plenty of entertaining indie games. Yet, one is particularly notable for its unconventional concept. Named Unko Technica, this retro-inspired platformer features a hero that is truly a turd attempting to make its way to a restroom. In case you're wondering, "Unko" translates to "poop."

The gameplay is easy to grasp: just use a jump control. Throughout numerous stages, you'll face mini-bosses and unlock a store to acquire skins for your poop character.

Time your actions with caution, since one mistake means restarting the level. Leap using bubbles to launch yourself to new heights, traverse fragile surfaces, and activate switches to open secret routes. Collect coins and use them on challenging stages in which things gets crazy.

Graphically, the game boasts neon level designs and catchy background music. Its minimalist visual style of morphing geometric shapes evokes memories of fans of classic titles like Earthbound.

Even though difficult to recall other games where you play as a dung character, video games have long featured scatological themes. For example, in Death Stranding, players make grenades from protagonist excrement. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ feces as soil enrichment. And of course, such content is present heavily in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its goofy idea, Unko Technica has already garnered notable recognition, including being named best at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. A playable preview is available at present on Steam, with the complete version scheduled to debut on computers on November 19.
