Prince William Plans to Join UN Climate Conference in South America

The Prince of Wales will represent the United Nations climate conference in Brazil next month, as announced by the royal household.

The father and son duo appeared together on Thursday evening at a event preceding the climate summit, which is set to be held in the Amazonian city of Belem.

Father and son were in attendance at the Natural History Museum reception, marking an rare public appearance together at a environmental conference preliminary meeting co-hosted by the United Kingdom administration.

Environmental Advocacy Dedication

The King has been a longstanding advocate of biodiversity preservation - and the Prince of Wales has inherited the mission, with his own environmental prize initiative, which will be taking place in South America preceding the UN meeting.

Royal sources have described Prince William's attendance at the upcoming climate summit as assuming an significant responsibility in "global climate discussions".
