A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted with Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two individuals now face murder charges after the death in prison of former Lostprophets singer and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) now face murder accusations and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to investigating officers.

Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after admitting a string of sex offences including the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
